Mastercard and Polygon Partner to Transform Web3 Music!
Mastercard is starting a spotlight program for new musicians based on the Polygon blockchain to help new creators use the power of Web3 and blockchain technologies.
Beginning in the spring of 2023, the Mastercard Artist Accelerator program will provide five up-and-coming musicians, DJs, and producers with the tools, knowledge, and connections necessary to forge successful careers in the digital music industry. The artists will be granted access to special events, music releases, and more. An innovative curriculum will teach artists how to develop (and own) their brand through Web3 experiences such as creating NFTs, putting up virtual personas, and creating active communities.
The Mastercard Artist Accelerator, which was designed as a venue for musicians to expand their communities, invites music enthusiasts to join them at the table. Fans can join the platform and study alongside artists to hone their skills and better comprehend the industry. The program will conclude later in the year with a live-streamed artist showcase.
“Music is a universal passion that inspires, moves, and unites us; however, it can be difficult for aspiring artists to break in. Mastercard’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Raja Rajamannar, said, “With the Mastercard Artist Accelerator, we are expanding access and fostering more connections with cutting-edge Web3 technology.” “Our goal is to bring together passion and purpose by showcasing amazing up-and-coming artists and creating an interactive community where people can learn, experiment, and grow together.”
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Raja and Polygon Studios announced the Mastercard Artist Accelerator program. Mastercard, a sponsor of the GRAMMY Awardsยฎ, Latin GRAMMY Awardsยฎ, and BRIT Awards, is using Web3 technologies to create exclusive, inclusive, and scalable experiences for both fans and artists. Even the company’s debut album, “Priceless,” was released in June 2022.
The network, which is one of the greenest blockchains in use, is home to tens of thousands of decentralized applications, such as the music platforms Royal, StemsDAO, and Bolera.
According to Ryan Wyatt, CEO of Polygon Studios, “Web3 has the potential to enable a new type of artist to build a fan base, earn a living, and introduce novel mediums for self-expression and connection on their own terms.” In addition to demonstrating the power of brands embracing this new space, the Mastercard Artist Accelerator provides tools that can educate consumers on how to participate. This is a significant development that will help more people access the benefits of Web3.
