Students in El Salvador can now earn Bitcoin diplomas.

El Salvador gave the first 40 students Bitcoin diplomas, which they can get by reading a short blue textbook for one day.

El Salvador, which is led by President Nayib Bukele, is taking a big step toward teaching its people about Bitcoin. In September 2021, Bitcoin will become legal currency in El Salvador.

Local news sources say that about 40 high school students at the Ignacio Pacheco Castro school in El Salvador got a diploma that showed they knew about Bitcoin.

With this development, the educational centre in San Marcos, a municipality in the department of San Salvador, becomes the first in the country to introduce cryptocurrency education.

The pilot project was led by the NGO “My First Bitcoin,” which aims to educate the entire population of El Salvador about bitcoin.

“We were very clear from the start that we would work with children between the ages of 17 and 20, so we set out to teach with simple language, designing an interactive study plan that included activities and some games,” said Ral Guirola, an NGO professor. Students receive a Bitcoin diploma after completing the 10-week course. In an interesting move, the NGO gave all 84 members of the Asamblea Legislativa a copy of “Diplomado En Bitcoin” before giving copies to all students in El Salvador.ย
